Journal of Taiyuan University of Technology (ISSN 1007-9432, CN 14-1220/N) is sponsored by Taiyuan University of Technology and governed by Shanxi Provincial Education Department. It is an academic journal published bimonthly and distributed all over the world. The journal was founded in 1957. The present Editor-in-Chief is Prof. Sun Hongbin.

This journal aims to promote academic communication, serve readers with high-quality articles on cutting-edge achievements in scientific research, promote the development of relevant disciplines, improve the level of teaching and scientific research, discover and train talents, and boost Shanxi's economy and China's coal industry.

Journal of Taiyuan University of Technology mainly publishes academic papers on Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information and Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture, etc.

The journal won the Chinese University Sci-Tech Periodicals Prize and Top Ten Sci-Tech Periodicals Prize in Shanxi Province, P. R. China. The journal was honored to be selected into The Array of China Periodicals and was titled ‘Journal of Double Effects’.
